The Parish Council raises money by precept (a mandatory demand) on the county council which in the case of Barmby Moor is the East Riding of Yorkshire Council (ERYC). The precept is the Parish Council's share of the council tax and is used to provide those services (eg street lighting, grass cutting, pavement gritting etc) for which it is responsible.
